Detailed Program
01
Day 1: Departure from Cusco – arrival at Rainforest lodge
Our journey commences from Cusco aboard a private bus, traversing scenic mountainous landscapes, leading us to the culturally rich town of Paucartambo. After a short stroll around town, our expedition continues to Tres Cruces, which marks the gateway to Manu’s Cultural Zone and the mesmerizing cloud forest. Following this, we proceed to San Pedro for a one-hour exploration, where we’ll witness a captivating mating dance display by the Cock of the Rock, Peru’s national bird (Rupicola peruviana), along with sightings of monkeys and orchids. Our day ends at our secluded Rainforest Lodge, where we’ll retire for the night.

Day 2: Transit from Rainforest lodge – Manu Wild Ecological Reserve
(Mammals clay lick) Post breakfast, our adventure resumes with a private bus ride to Atalaya, halting for a glimpse of a coca plantation and a breathtaking view of the jungle and river. From Atalaya, our journey transitions to a motorized boat trip to Aguas Calientes, known for its natural hot springs. The boat ride promises vibrant bird species and stunning landscapes. By afternoon, we reach R. E. Manu Wild, from where a one-hour walk leads us to our camouflaged dwelling. Here, we will experience the fascinating wildlife of Tapirs, Deers, Monkeys, and various small rodents indulging in the Clay Lick, as they feast on salt mud at night. We’ll spend the night here, keeping a watch for tapirs and deer.

Day 3: Adventure in Manu Wild Ecological Reserve
Our exploration of the jungle continues through an extensive network of trails, carrying a light day pack with lunch. The trail will introduce us to wildlife such as monkeys, collared peccaries, and diverse bird species like eagles, parrots, and toucans, medicinal plants, and towering trees. Post-afternoon, we will ascend the impressive Observation Tower in the canopy, enabling us to spot macaws, toucans, and tanagers. After sunset, we hunt for Tarantulas, spiders, tree frogs, and snakes. The day concludes at our cozy lodge for an overnight stay.

Day 4: Departure from Manu Wild Ecological Reserve – Return to Cusco
We set off early to Atalaya via boat, where our private bus will be ready to escort us back to Cusco. We’ll reach Cusco by evening.
